Good Bye 2018; Hello 2019!

Year 2018 After I graduated from college, I had no idea what to do with my life. I applied for 30 over marketing jobs, yet only 2 jobs got back to me. And these jobs not only deceiving but also crashing my values as a person. A 2pm to 11pm, 7 days of trial-job, gave me no pay at all.  An insurance company that I trusted, let me down by caring about itself. My time wasted. That's when started wondering what should I do in life. I locked myself. Didn't interact with anyone but still nothing. So I decided to take a short break to Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia (my hometown) to look for aspiration. One day, out of the blue, there's light bulb over my head. Since my dad has an accessories shop, why not I study Jewellery design? Maybe I could give a hand to my parents' business. So without any hesitation, I planned to take a short course on Jewellery design at an Art School. I had so much fun in drawing illustration and crafting jewellery with big-dangerous machines. T...

How does "HelloPiggyLife" exist?

Dear readers, After 2 years, I had checked my posts and realised that... I have not explained to you the reason why my blog named, "hellopiggylife"! I chose this name because... 1st: I was born into a Chinese family. My family is pretty superstitious. They believe in feng shui and other Chinese traditions. Since I was born in Pig year (1995), that's why I named this blog as piggy. 2nd: I want this blog to be all about my adventures. I don't want to forget the unforgettable moment. 3rd: The life of enjoying myself during travelling or eating some delicious food!  Then, I added "Hello" to remind myself to be grateful. That was why I named this blog, "Hellopiggylife" 😉 P.s. Just wanting to share, in case you find the name of my blog is weird.🙈 Love, Piggy

Hi guys! Say goodbye to 2017 and welcome 2018; and let the new chapter begins!  (Sorry, it's a little too late to say  such a thing)  Days flies so fast that I couldn't keep track on it. All projects and internship programme all came to an end... Finally, I have the freedom to do all the SHIT I want!  XD A week ago, my relatives came to Singapore for a visit. They wanted me to bring them around Singapore. So, I brought them around to famous tourists attractions such as Sentosa, Orchard roads and Chinatown etc. Suddenly, my cousin came towards me. "Sister, I would want to shop for snacks that aren't available in Indonesia. What can I buy here?" my she asked me curiously. At first, I would suggest her to go bugis or chinatown as these places sell many cheap souvenirs or snacks than other areas (correct me if I'm wrong). However, Singapore currency is so high! Even a dollar have to be spent wisely. I rested my head on my hand as I replied, "Let's...

Self-Reflections

Hi guys! I just want to tell you guys about what I am feeling today. I really don't know where to start... I have a lot of things in my mind and I will not censored anything.  I decided to be myself today! Just today... Recently, I have been reading a book called,"Confessions of a sociopath", written by M.E. Thomas. I started to question myself. If 1% to 4% of the world's population are sociopaths...  That means there are around 210 million of them are living among us. Many questions started to pop out in my mind like, "Is my friend a sociopath?" "Does one of my family member diagnosed of antisocial disorder?" "Am I a sociopath?"  Through my resources, they stated that the characteristics of sociopath are feeling remorse or lack of guilt, risk taker, impulsive and manipulative etc. Honestly, I do admire them. Sometimes I feel amazed at these sociopaths. How can they manipulate people and their surroundings so w...

2017 Jaan, Singapore

Image
Hi guys! I want to share with you my first experience at Jaan, a Michelin star restaurant. Let me tell you a little bit of its background. It is one of the Asia's 50 top restaurants in 2017 and awarded 1 Michelin star. It is located at 2 Stamford Road, Swissotel The Stamford. Jaan is a Modern French Restaurant that will amaze you with its creativity (be it taste or platting). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why did my brother and I decided to go there for a meal? Well, it is not because we are rich/wealthy. We went there because my brother and his girlfriend would like to treat me a belated birthday meal. (I was in Hong Kong during my birthday). Moreover, it would be beneficial for my brother, who is studying culinary to gain some knowledge by observing some of Jaan's food; understand how or why Jaan become one of the top restaurants in Asia. We had to wear formal attire: ladylike & gentleman theme. When we arrive...
