池记 wonton restaurant at Causeway Bay

Hi!

It's been a long time since I have posted a blog. I would like to apologize to my readers for the late post due to busy schedules. T T

Hong Kong is famous for its wonton noodles. Wonton is a prawn or meat wrapped with a thin layer of dough. It mostly served with noodles or soup.

Even though I have been living in Hong Kong for almost 3 months now, I finally had the chance to eat this famous delicacy recently.

My dorm a.k.a Indonesian friend named (K) had visited this famous restaurant, which is located nearby the Time Square. This restaurant is her father's favourite. She said, "池记 wonton restaurant is delicious! You really have to go there and try their wonton soup/noodles."  Since I had been craving for so long, why not I try it out?! So during one of the weekends, we travelled from Tsing Yi to Causeway Bay just to eat that delicious wonton.

Unfortunately, we were unable to eat wonton as we got lost! We thought that the restaurant was located nearby the Forever 21. So we walked around for about an hour or more, yet we couldn't find the famous restaurant. As we were getting tired and hungry, we decided to eat Indonesian food instead. We gave up on having wonton on that day.

After more than 2 or 3 weeks, we decided to go and search for that wonton again! But this time we had all the correct information about the location. We were so sure that we won't get lost this time. Instead of heading towards Forever 21, we went directly to Time Square. There, you would find a small street food stall. You have to cross the junction road. Otherwise, you can ask pedestrians where the restaurant was located. I believed many would recognize it. Anyway, you will only have to walk 2 to 3 minutes to this restaurant from the Causeway Bay station. Then, we finally found the restaurant. There was a long queue but the queue shorten fast. So don't worry!

K and I had ordered the original flavour of wonton noodles which is the prawn wonton, with an additional wonton soup.  The drinks we drank were barley and soya milk. There are other food in the menu. But most people recommended us to eat the wonton.

The wonton skin was very slimy and thin. The prawn was tender. The soup tasted very clean. It was a refreshing experience! My cravings were fulfilled. ^^

That's the wonton noodles. This cost an estimation of HKD $160

How to get there?
Get down at Causeway Bay station. You have to find an exit which will lead you towards the Time Square. After existed from the Causeway Bay MTR station, make a U turn, you should be walking towards the Clock Tower. Just walk ahead to a small stall selling street food, and cross the junction (just walk straight). Then, you will see many people will queue. That's the restaurant you will be heading.

Tips:
It is not cheap or expensive. The cost of the wonton noodles cost $40+ and drink will cost $10+
If you are unable to find your way, you can ask the locals. The restaurant is located nearby the junction.

P.s. Enjoy your meal there! ^^
